Engineering Technician
Job Description Summary:
Primarily working in R&D Electrical Engineering, supporting research, development, and manufacturability of electrical medical devices. Prototyping, electrical test, troubleshooting, and circuit analysis are key activities. The role also requires experience transferring designs into the manufacturing environment. Must be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of electronics (analog and digital). RF/uW and power electronics experience is a strong plus.
Position Responsibilities and Authorities:

Able to read and understand electrical schematics (analog and digital) with RF a plus

Able to prototype electrical circuits and use hand tools and light machine tools

Troubleshooting to component level

Assi manufacturing when defects are found and help with failure analysis

Good documentation practices (utilizing Lab Notebook)

Able to use a wide variety of test equipment such as DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Impedance Analyzers, function generators, etc.

Able to work within the highly regulated environment of medical devices

Support the Quality System and Quality Policy. Be aware of Quality System procedures and requirements, including regulatory requirements, training requirements for the position

Familiarity with IEC 60601 standards and testing, including assisting with testing products at test facilities
Qualification Requirements:
Education: BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related electrical experience
Experience & Skills:
-
5 years minimum experience in an engineering role in the medical device industry

Knowledge of IEC 60601 safety standards and other applicable standards for medical electrical devices

Excellent verbal and written communications

Communicating effectively across all levels of the organization

Works well under pressure, is organized, and is self-motivated
