SOLTA PRODUCTS

 

While employed at Solta, Mark Kane designed their flagship RF system, a 400W 6.78MHz RF platform with cooling to support their Thermacool tips. Later, as president of Energy Medical Systems, he returned to assist Solta to update this flagship system to IEC 60601 3rd edition compliance. EMS has also helped with EMC testing for other Solta products.

MAYA MEDICAL

 

Energy Medical Systems was brought in to support the development of the Maya Medical Renal Hypertension system (later purchased by Covidien). Efforts included design assistance, problem analysis, SW/HW design reviews, shepherding the product through IEC 60601 testing (2nd and 3rd editions), and V&V activities.

Energy Medical Systems was engaged to assist with the next-generation RF platform for the Advanced Energy group. The scope of work included the design of a new power source to enable Medtronic to expand the capabilities of its current RF system.

ARAGON SURGICAL

 

Energy Medical Systems designed the Aragon Surgical RF power delivery section (later purchased by B. Braun) for open hysterectomy and general laparoscopic vessel ligation and division. EMS managed the entire product design and development process and steered the product through IEC 60601 testing and V&V activities.
